Founder | Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Hello, I'm Luis.
I'm a board-certified psychiatric–mental health nurse practitioner and the founder of Via Magnolia Psychiatry, PLLC, with clinical experience caring for children, adolescents, and adults. Through Via Magnolia Psychiatry, I plan to offer psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing psychiatric care to patients in Milford, CT and surrounding communities.
I believe good psychiatric care begins with something simple: taking the time to truly understand the person and family sitting in front of you. My approach is collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded in evidence-based care, with a focus on helping each patient move toward a healthier and brighter tomorrow.
Child & Adolescent Expertise
Specialized care for children, teens, and their parents and caregivers.
Evidence-Based & Personalized
Thoughtful, individualized treatment plans.
Bilingual Care
Care in English and Spanish for our diverse community.
My Journey
My background in psychology, family and child sciences, education, and behavioral health shapes how I approach psychiatric care. I consider the whole person—their relationships, daily life, and the people who support them. For children, challenges with attention, anxiety, mood, or behavior can affect school, friendships, confidence, and family life.
I built on that foundation through my psychiatric–mental health nurse practitioner training at Yale University, where I earned my Master of Science in Nursing. I’ve also had the privilege of serving as a part-time lecturer at Yale School of Nursing. Together, these experiences and my clinical work have shaped my commitment to compassionate, individualized care.
As a parent myself, I appreciate how much courage it can take to seek help for your child or yourself. My goal is to create a welcoming space where you feel heard and supported, and where we work together to develop a plan that fits your life.
I'm honored to be part of your journey.
Why Via Magnolia?
Via means "the way" or "the path." Magnolia represents home, family, growth, and the community from which this practice began. Together, Via Magnolia reflects what I hope psychiatric care can provide: a path forward — not a promise that the path will always be easy, but a commitment that you don't have to navigate it alone.
